SOCIAL STORY
What will happen when I come to Newcastle Music & Art Therapy for my appointment?
Coming to a new place and trying something that you’ve never done before can be scary!
You might have lots of questions about what will happen, or worries about your first music therapy or art therapy session.
With our Newcastle Music & Art Therapy Social Story, we can give you a peek inside our clinic and show you the instruments and art materials you can use in your therapy session.
Our Social Story also shows you important things like where you will wait for your appointment to start, and where the toilets are.
We have also put together a tour of our clinic so that you can feel like you’ve already visited us before you even come to your first appointment.

At Newcastle Music & Art Therapy, we’re all about creating a space where everyone feels welcome and valued. We are a neuroaffirming practice, proudly support people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ folks, and Indigenous peoples.
It’s important to us that everyone feels included, heard and seen. We’re here to break down barriers, celebrate our differences, and make sure everyone can be themselves and shine.

Newcastle Music & Art Therapy operates on Awabakal country. We acknowledge the Awabakal people as the traditional custodians of the Warners Bay region and pay our respects to Awabakal elders past and present.
We are committed to a positive future for the Aboriginal community.
